ANGLIA MR2 REPORT FOR JANUARY 2012

This month, as the first Sunday of January was New Years Day, the meeting was held on the 8th (second Sunday). This day found 6 MRIIs plus one other car in The White Hart car park in Alconbury Weston. Our meeting was a pub meet in order to discuss this years programme. Over coffee after a good meal, and spotty Dick for those with a larger appetite than most, the following proposed programme was agreed, which we hope meets with everyones approval.
January: Warners Holiday at Bodelwyddan
February: No meeting as most of us will be recovering from the drive back from Wales.
March 4th: Drive with lunch organised by Ivan and Janet in Suffolk.
March 23-25th: Celebration Weekend Knights Hill Hotel, Kings Lynn, (National Event)
April 1st: East Ruston Gardens organised by Jo & Sue
May 6th: Boat Trip organised by Tom & Sharon
June 3rd Woolpit Steam Rally organised by Sheila & Henry
July 1st: Summer Holiday Derby
August 5th: BBQ organised by Joy & Barrie
September 2nd: MGOC Memorial Run
October 7th: Bowling organised by Jonathan
November 4th: Guided Bus from St. Ives to Cambridge organised by Dave and Ali
December 2nd Christmas Lunch Venue to be announced later anyone with any ideas please let
us know.

A major point of discussion was the Summer Holiday for June/July. Some of our members have done a great deal of research for this, finding problems with most of the hotels and guest houses contacted, either no evening meal or too few rooms. Finally we have agreed on The Little Over Lodge Hotel from the 30th June to 7th July. Details of the hotel can be found on their web site www.littleoverlodge.co.uk. A cost of 454.65 per couple for seven nights, dinner bed and breakfast has been agreed and they are holding 9 rooms, for the next 2/3 weeks. You will need to book direct with the hotel if you are intending to come, quoting MR2DC or our name Dave & Ali Neaves. The Telephone No. Is 01332 510161. If you cannot spare the whole week you can come for just a few days either at the weekend or mid week. Please let us know if and when you have booked so we can keep a record.

Of course after the meeting concluded everyone returned to Ali & Daves for afternoon tea and cakes. We were sorry that Sue had been unable to join us and hope she will soon be well and look forward to seeing her at Bodelwyddan.
